At No44, responsibility isn’t something we add at the end of the process. It’s built into every decision, from who we work with, to how our jeans are made, to what happens long after they’ve been worn.
Staying Close, On Purpose
We don’t outsource responsibility. We work with our supply chain, not above it. Our production is intentionally small and traceable. We know where our denim comes from. We know who we work with. And we know how each pair of jeans is made, from fabric to finish.
There are no hidden subcontractors. No production gaps. No blurred responsibilities. This closeness isn’t about control. It’s about accountability.
Beyond the First Wear
Denim isn’t disposable. And it shouldn’t be treated that way. We design pieces meant to last, structurally, aesthetically, and emotionally. But longevity doesn’t end at durability. It continues through care, repair, and reuse.
That’s why we’ve started looking beyond the traditional lifecycle of a garment. Through our circular projects, we explore how existing denim can live again. Old garments, samples, and production leftovers are transformed into new pieces, not as an afterthought, but as a deliberate design choice.
Not everything worn is broken. And not everything broken is done. This approach reduces waste, limits the need for virgin resources, and keeps denim in motion instead of in landfills.
Letting Denim Evolve
We don’t believe sustainability is about producing less for the sake of it. We believe it’s about producing better, and making what already exists last longer. Repair instead of replace. Reuse instead of discard. Design with the future in mind.
This is slower. More demanding. And far less convenient. But it’s honest.
